Sharper results from the new Sony 28-70mm with DxO Modules

Each DxO Module is created through precise laboratory analysis of a specific camera and lens combination. With support for the new Sony FE 28-70mm F3.5-5.6, DxO software automatically applies tailored optical corrections and Lens Sharpness Optimization, restoring detail that would otherwise be lost to optical imperfections. The result is noticeably crisper images across the frame, as demonstrated in the comparisons below.

What is a
DxO Module?

A DxO Module is an advanced mathematical model of unparalleled precision, meticulously crafted to capture the unique image quality characteristics of a specific camera and lens combination.

It encompasses “the truth” of the camera and lens combination. It refers to every physical characteristic of a particular sensor (noise, color response, etc) and of a particular lens (sharpness uniformity, distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberrations, etc), all carefully measured in laboratory conditions.

Integrated seamlessly into DxO PhotoLab, PureRAW, ViewPoint, and FilmPack, DxO Modules unlock the full potential of your equipment.

Watch the video to find out more, or get the full story in depth.

Available from today, the new DxO Modules can be found in:

DxO PhotoLab versions 9.7, 8.15, 7.23

DxO PureRAW versions 6.1, 5.9

Stunning improvements with the new OM System M.Zuiko ED 50-200mm F2.8 thanks to DxO Modules

Last month’s batch of DxO Modules included support for the brand-new OM System M.Zuiko ED 50-200mm IS PRO, a lens that was guaranteed to excite any Micro Four Thirds photographer who loves photographing sports and nature.

As an OM System ambassador, photographer Petr Bambousek has been using the lens for the last couple of months and shared this image with us. You can clearly see the sharpness improvements offered by DxO Modules when compared to Lightroom — something that becomes more pronounced as you get further from the center of the lens.

DETAIL

Adobe Lightroom

DxO Modules

DxO Modules can achieve this because, unlike other lens profiles, they do not apply a uniform level of sharpening across the entire frame. Instead, the lens has been analyzed in such detail that DxO Modules are able to apply sharpening precisely where it’s needed, avoiding soft corners or over-sharpened centers.

What is a DxO Module?

A DxO Module is an advanced mathematical model of unparalleled precision, meticulously crafted to capture the unique image quality characteristics of a specific camera and lens combination.

It encompasses “the truth” of the camera and lens combination. It refers to every physical characteristic of a particular sensor (noise, color response, etc) and of a particular lens (sharpness uniformity, distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberrations, etc), all carefully measured in laboratory conditions.

“The best optical correction software there is.”

Timeless style, modern workflow: Version 8 introduces Time Warp mode and full Photoshop integration

New timeline-based tools, deeper Adobe integration, and 15 new film renderings push DxO FilmPack’s creative potential further than ever before.

DxO is proud to announce the launch of DxO FilmPack8, a major update that blends photographic heritage with cutting-edge digital creativity. With this latest release, photographers gain access to two standout features: Time Warp mode, a new way to explore and apply authentic analog styles, and full integration with Adobe Photoshop, making DxO FilmPack’s celebrated film renderings available directly inside the world’s most popular editing software.

Alongside these innovations, DxO FilmPack8 introduces 15 new film emulations, a dedicated tool for scanned film, high-resolution upgrades for all effects, and a range of usability improvements across the board.

NEW IN V8

Explore photography’s history
with Time Warp Mode

The all-new Time Warp mode brings a playful, immersive way to connect with photographic history. A Time Travel slider allows users to scroll through more than two centuries of film evolution, instantly previewing and applying authentic analog styles that reflect each era’s defining looks. These renderings go far beyond color grading, recreating the film grain, tonal shifts, and surface textures that made each stock unique.
Alongside this, DxO FilmPack8 introduces an ‘Ageify’ slider, which applies realistic image degradation to simulate the aesthetic of aging prints — perfect for storytelling, nostalgia, or creative experimentation.

Together, these tools expand the existing Time Machine experience, adding even more visual references and iconic historical moments to explore.

NEW IN V8

Edit seamlessly inside
Adobe Photoshop

With full Photoshop integration, DxO FilmPack8 now works directly inside Adobe’s flagship editing software. Users can apply DxO’s scientifically calibrated film renderings without switching applications or interrupting their workflow. Combined with compatibility for Adobe Lightroom Classic and DxO PhotoLab9 , DxO FilmPack8 delivers its analog-inspired toolkit across every major editing environment.

“It deserves the attention of any analog film fan!”
